(STARTING ABOUT 10:30 am) \n\n\n\n1. ASSIGNED LOCATION NET (the below 15 locations) \n\n\n\n2. GENERAL ANY HAM ANYWHERE NET (mobile or at home\, out of county\, etc) \n\n\n\n3. NRW GMRS NET CONTROL reports from Hams. \n\n\n\nCAN YOU HELP?\n\n\n\nWe will need 10 to 14 (possibly more) hams to take assignments to drive to a specific building parking lot and check in to a special NET Thursday morning. \n\n\n\nWhat will you do? \n\n\n\n\nDrive a few miles to assigned location.\n\n\n\nUse hand held or mobile radio\n\n\n\nListen to NET and wait for your turn.\n\n\n\nCheck in when called and ready from provided script.\n\n\n\nFinish listening to the Net and wait to be dismissed.\n\n\n\nGo Home\, the whole thing might last 60 minutes or so.

We will begin a Net around 10:19 am (the time of the simulated earthquake) and react to a simulated area wide power and communications outage.  \n\n\n\nCalifornia Shakeout Drill\n\n\n\nTHURSDAY OCT 19\, 2023 10:19 amYou can participate in a special annual emergency net with organizations across California.  TCARES and TC Office of Emergency Services are planning an emergency NET to demonstrate the TCARES repeater infrastructure during a simulated communications outage following a simulated major earthquake incident. We are looking for MAXIMUM PARTICIPATION!Our goal is to see check-ins from Pinecrest to Jamestown\, from Mariposa to Angels Camp\, and from Modesto to Yosemite National Park! (AND ALL POINTS IN-BETWEEN)ALL TCARES REPEATERS WILL BE LINKEDCHECK-IN format.It will be a directed net\, but we will not have a roll call.First we will ask for checkins by repeater usage starting with Columbia\, then Pinecrest\, then Moccasin and then Duckwall (suffix alpha sequence). We will ask for simple YES/NO answers for questions about power and phone status.CONCISE checkins. We are looking for rapid efficient check-ins. DESCRIPTION:Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June\, more than 40\,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science\, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service\, emergency preparedness\, community outreach\, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933\, and remains the most popular event in ham radio. \n\n\n\nObjective-To contact as many stations as possible on the 160\, 80\, 40\, 20\,15 and 10 Meter HF bands\, as well as all bands 50 MHz and above\, and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions.Field Day is open to all amateurs in the areas covered by the ARRL/RAC Field Organizations and countries within IARU Region 2. DX stations residing in other regions may be contacted for credit\, but are not eligible to submit entries.Each claimed contact must include contemporaneous direct initiation by the operator on both sides of the contact. Initiation of a contact may be either locally or by remote.
