A NO TEST LICENSE is required to transmit on the GMRS frequencies. However\, you can transmit without a license on the FRS frequencies that are used by some of our GMRS groups within Tuolumne County. A GMRS license is required for repeater usage. Apply for your GMRS license today. One GMRS license will cover your entire extended family\, even if they don’t live in the same home. There is NO TEST\, only a FCC $35. application fee. Follow these step by step instructions to get your NO TEST GMRS License. FCC processing time usually takes one to three days and has a $35.00 fee. START NOW. \n\n\n\nYou do not need to own a radio to attend this class\, reserve a seat with a free ticket and learn the basic skills of radio communication. SUMMARY:JAMESTOWN RUN Radio Support - March 15th
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Jamestown run is on a SUNDAY morning. All radio volunteers will meet at the Jamestown CHP Office at 7:00 am for briefing. The address is given below\, with a map. \n\n\n\nGrayson Rehn will be the net control operator for race communications (he’s done this multiple times and is a great asset to our club!). Grayson will run the briefing meeting\, and anwer any questions volunteers may have. Ham and GMRS radio operators will be assigned to stations along the run route and be given instructions on protocols & procedures. If you haven’t done this before\, it’s pretty straightforward. \n\n\n\nAlso\, you can check into one\, or more\, of our weekly nets to let us know if you can help provide radio support\, or contact Grayson\, KE6KYI\, at: \n\n\n\npapabird.KE6KYI@gmail.com \n\n\n\nand he will give you details and sign you up for a spot on the roster. \n\n\n\nThanks\, so much\, to all volunteers for this event!
