DESCRIPTION:This is an exam session to obtain your FCC Ham/Amateur radio license. Exams for all levels of license (Technician\, General\, and Extra) are available. Please have the following: 1) your FCC Registration Number (FRN); 2) a $15 exam fee; and 3) a photo ID when you come. Pre-registration is preferred (through the website below) but walk-ins are welcome. \n\n\n\nGo to HamStudy.org to pre-register to take a test. \n\n\n\n=================================================================== \n\n\n\nVE teams must be accredited by the ARRL VEC and are encouraged to undergo training for remote\, video-supervised\, sessions. \n\n\n\nNote: The ARRL VEC is shifting to a fully digital\, 2026-focused program for amateur radio exams\, heavily relying on ExamTools for both remote and in-person testing. Key requirements include using ExamTools for VE registration\, on-screen testing/grading\, and electronic submission of forms\, alongside strict\, Zoom-based video supervision protocols. \n\n\n\nNew ARRL Digital Exam & VE Requirements: \n\n\n\n\nSystem Requirement: ExamTools software is mandatory for all digital and remote sessions\, replacing paper-based\, field-stocked testing.\n\n\n\nTechnical Setup: Candidates need a computer with a webcam/microphone and a smartphone to act as a second\, rear-view camera.\n\n\n\nRoom Requirements: A private room\, no other people or pets allowed\, with a\, 360-degree camera sweep of the area required before the exam.\n\n\n\nProhibited Items: No headphones\, earbuds\, smartwatches\, external monitors\, or secondary\, keyboards/mice.\n\n\n\nProcess: Three accredited VEs must observe the candidate via video throughout the session.\n\n\n\nDocumentation: All applicants must have an FCC Registration Number (FRN) and a valid email address.\n\n\n\nFuture Shift: The ARRL VEC is moving to full digital\, with new Technician question pools taking effect on July 1\, 2026.
