TCARES Exhibit @ 2018 Father’s Day Fly-In TCARES applied for a free information and demo booth at the 2018 Father’s Day Fly-In for the purpose of educating the general public about the Amateur Radio arts. We are looking to see if there are about 10 to 14 club members interested in staffing 2 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday. If we get enough sign ups, we will send in our application to get a space. ANNUAL ARMED FORCES DAY CROSSBAND TEST (12 May 2018) The Military Auxiliary Radio System will host this year’s Armed Forces Day Crossband Test, scheduled for May 12, 2018. This annual event is open to all radio operators, and will not impact any public or private communications. For more than 50 years, military and amateur stations have taken part in this event, which is only an exercise scenario, designed to include hobbyist and government radio operators alike. Saturday, April 21, 2018, TCARES.NET conducted a public service event for the OLD MILL Walk/Run event in Columbia State Park for about 75 participants over a 10K race route and we staffed it with about 20 members of our club.
